Network and Systems Administrator

Based out of West Kelowna, BC and reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, Alpine is seeking a skilled and proactive Network and System Administrator to join our team. In this dynamic role, you’ll help maintain and optimize our IT infrastructure across corporate, field, and aircraft operations. Working closely with third-party IT providers, you’ll manage critical systems (including ERP and FDM platforms), support end-user hardware and software, and ensure secure, reliable connectivity. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Track the lifecycle of all IT assets, coordinate replacements and procurement, maintain records, and ensure secure disposal of outdated equipment.
  • Manage business systems (Syspro, CAMP, Laserfiche), collaborate with third-party IT providers, and ensure regulatory compliance and data integrity.
  • Administer and troubleshoot aviation-related hardware/software, including FDM platforms, GPS, radios, and mobile IT systems across field operations.
  • Support Internet, Wi-Fi, and phone systems; install network cabling; and assist with physical security systems and remote site tech support.
  • Act as a go-to IT contact for staff, facilitate onboarding and training, resolve service issues, and identify opportunities to enhance workflows.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Clear communicator with a strong focus on end-user support.
  • Quick learner, adaptable to dynamic tech environments.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience with networks, servers, and Windows Server.
  • Proficient in ERP, document management, and VOIP systems.
  • Supports hardware, security, and remote tech systems.
  • Collaborates well with vendors and IT service providers.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must possess a valid passport and be willing to travel as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in network and systems administration.
  • Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working in the field of aviation is an asset.
  • Industry certifications are considered strong assets, including:
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate;
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA);
    • CompTIA Security+; and/or
    • ITIL Foundation (for understanding IT service management).
