Chief Engineer – Intermediate Fleet
Based out of Calgary, Alberta and reporting to the Director of Maintenance, Alpine is seeking a Chief Engineer, Intermediate Fleet to oversee and manage all maintenance activities related to our intermediate helicopter fleet. Working alongside the Chief Engineer, Medium Fleet, this is a key leadership role within the company, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintenance schedules, and high standards of maintenance practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and oversee maintenance work scopes, ensuring all activities comply with regulatory requirements, airworthiness directives, and operational schedules.
- Manage and mentor Lead Engineers, ensuring they are well-equipped, qualified, and aligned with organizational goals while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Oversee accurate and timely maintenance records, address unscheduled maintenance events, and ensure proper response to AOG situations to minimize aircraft downtime.
- Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., Quality Assurance, Flight Operations) to improve processes, resolve issues, and align maintenance activities with organizational goals.
- Conduct regular site visits to bases to ensure effective maintenance practices, support operational requirements, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Strong leadership, time management, and organizational skills.
- Solid knowledge of Canadian Air Regulations and aviation maintenance management systems.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must possess a valid passport and be willing to travel as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, with 3-5 years in a leadership role within aviation.
- Must hold a valid AME license in good standing with Transport Canada.
- Must possess Transport Canada approved endorsements on Bell 407, Bell 206L, and/ or AS350B3.
- Endorsements for Bell 212 and Bell 412 are considered assets.
